The combination of ASI Jet Center and Modern Aero have been in business at Flying Cloud Airport for over 37 years. They started as separate companies, but have been together under the same ownership since 1985 and have grown to become one of the largest full service FBOs in the Midwest.
Modern Aero began as a service only shop on the northwest side of Flying Cloud Airport in 1967. Previously only employing a couple mechanics and mainly working on piston aircraft, the shop has steadily grown until present time. We now have a 14,000 square foot shop with a wide range of capabilities including Aircraft Maintenance, Parts Sales, and Avionics. We are an authorized service station for the following manufacturers: Cessna Single Engine-PropJet, New Piper, Diamond Aircraft and Jetprop/DLX. Modern Aero has extensive experience and Flight Safety Training for maintaining: All King Air Models, Cessna Citation Jet-Excel, and Mooney Aircraft. At Modern Aero we have the knowledge and expertise to efficiently service your aircraft.
ASI Jet Center opened in 1983 as a used aircraft dealer. In 1984 we became a Mooney Aircraft dealer and in 1985 a Piper dealer. With this product line growth came service diversity. ASI Jet Center expanded into Flight Training, Fuel, Hangar Rental, and Charter and Aircraft Management. Today, we are the exclusive Cessna Caravan Area Sales Representative for MN, parts of WI, ND, SD, and IA. We are also the exclusive distributor for Diamond Aircraft in MN, WI, IA, ND, SD, and MT. We sell new Piper Aircraft within the state of Minnesota and we always have a large amount of pre-owned inventory to sell.
